man and woman

April 22 by The Running Son

Part of proper masculinity is strength. But is protecting our love from harm the greatest battle?

Maybe a central feature of the feminine principle can be seen in the waves of the ocean, and masculine strength can be seen as the shoreline, providing a stable place for waves to crash, recede, reform, and release.

The shoreline adapts to the wave, but always remains.

  1. Yoshiko says:

Maybe? Due to both differences attract each other and both complement each other 🙂

  2. I generally agree with this guy:
And I really like his website.
Too tired to offer any thoughts of mine for now but I like your metaphor.

    • I’ll peak in SymbolReader. You more than anyone I know could talk about this.

I am hoping you will read the poem “Primal”… it’s one of several reactions to the movies The Fountain and DJango and I had you and your post in mind as I wrote. -JIm

      • There is something that prevents me from understanding that poem, perhaps I do not feel American English so well. There are some words and expressions that I cannot understand. Feeling dumb…
It makes me happy that you would think such nice things about me, that I would be qualified to answer this question. It is true that the subject of the feminine and the masculine is very central for me, maybe even an obsession. I believe each of us needs to find the right balance between his or her masculine and feminine energies. But it’s just the beginning… Pity you reject astrology because it can offer some insights. For example my Mars is in Aries, which is the most masculine sign, and I have been learning over the years to use its force with compassion and to control my anger and direct it more towards spiritual or intellectual pursuits. I used to be competitive as a child (Mars is a warrior) but not any more. But I still have this huge fiery energy at my disposal, which I always hope to use constructively.
Hope the comment is not too long or disappointing.

        • Oh hell no Monica. I know what I said about astrology. Now I will say this. I am becoming more directionless in my focus. That is to say, aversion is as much a block to consciousness as craving. Said simpler, I have no business limiting my destiny. My job isn’t to find reasons to avoid astrology– it’s to find my “Hara”, my balance, my open center and respond rather than react to all of life. DAMN that sounded good. Let me see if I can put that into practice. 😉
