April 26 by The Running Son
The alchemy of Light
Tonight, a shimmering silver has come down,
a sliver of heaven, in my curtains,
over the desert
on the moon-rock
across the ground. Her standing
in the breeze-way,
such a brilliance the moon gives!
It illuminates you in places
where moonlight is
blinding. I miss you, and I am finding
myself listening for you.
You said he only kissed you.
Turns out the dude jacked you, then smacked you
around. I cannot stand here now
or sit back and watch you
drown, weather, or crack.
up now, child please
off your knees, come to me, run if you must
no more need to kneel down. You’re an angel
and you blind me.
You shine like a moon-beam
god’s child, silver-lined
and I truly hope to see you around.
