the two eyes poem

May 8 by The Running Son

the two eyes poem

I could talk to you
directly, eye to eye
in a language that sums up my meaning
and what you mean to me.

More than just two eyes.
And more than language could say.
in any language
in any way
in any
sort of split world hidden

behind two eyes
praying that language would come,
splash across lips
flow like dreams
that two eyes look directly into, and see themselves

talking in, in any way that makes meaningful
events collide and makes
a single heart-language of two eyes.

  1. This is really amazing, Running Son:)

  2. 1WriteWay says:

    Lovely, lovely.

3.….The early stuff is why I created my poetry blog in the first place. Not so much to attract readers but to have a place to park stuff and add to it if i so desired. There is a two year gap between old and new if that tells you anything…;)

  4. RS- This says so much!!! Great prose! I am feeling a bit envious (not in a bitter way) as I am in a complete creative standstill- cant write for the life of me. Its like my mind is twisting and turning churning thoughts endlessly but I am unable to turn them loose on paper as I have in the past….this too shall pass?? Maybe?? Perhaps?? In the meantime I will live vicariously through your every post…

    • I am energized by having you. I am finding more and more that all my false starts and failures help me.
I just never started falsely. Or failed, because I didn’t try.

That may not be your story of course, but the answer is there for you, I know it. Questioning and not doing it
for me is a real blocker.

your comments and following mean a lot. Really.

and much good fortune… glorious failures transform in to glorious lessons.

      • Ahhh Inspiration and you are exactly correct…must stop questioning the mayhem in my mind and go with it…might lead me somewhere fabulous. We shall see. Will definitely keep you posted on that journey….Thanks

        • please do. put a link up in my about window or where ever if I miss your posts. You’ll know if I did. Very glad to have you. A pop in to your blog is on the horizon, like inspiration is.

  5. Jim, this is truly beautiful. It made me cry, happy tears.
