To All Midnight Poetesses
One day an angel
appeared over heaven.
And all of midnight saw her veiled grace
and gentle way with velvety black nights and lonely beings.
The heavens paid a tribute, and created the stars.
And the angel rejoiced at the confetti placed at her feet.
But she knew she couldn’t keep it.
Their was an “ours” to light up,
to be befriended, and gifted a gift that will keep
its lighted grace.
The angel, a finger to her lips,
and a taste of something sweet, hidden,
packaged to give
To the glorious shining hearts
of all midnight poetesses,
fashioning even more glorious angels
out of star-confetti
and pulsing stars and pulsars.
