February 11 by The Running Son
I can guarantee that you’ve never seen
lean cut lines
Believe me—I’ve got contrasts enough
to give 50 Grey Shades
I cream (and stuff).
Got plastic elastic to patch your fantastic
abrasives that scratch my evasive reactions
I’ve latched Gucci cases.
I’ve looked deep into windows at Macy’s.
Been places that men
avoid facing without a foundation
(in a manly sort of beige blend).
My family is amazed
at my vanity,
but more at my vanity-mirror
with the glitter
I had on me.
Please don’t be mad at me.
I’ll take hormones to help me
to help you to navigate anatomies.
(I swear one of us has to conceive.)
