About the Editor (updated 6/13)

6-13-2013: This is the first update to this page since I began this site. Since I wrote this, I have taken up poetry, and have plans to start a poetry only blog. My life has turned 360° since February. I am in love. I am moving. I have made friends and my future has come into focus. I am grateful for my followers, and could never have dreamed I would be here, today, bursting with hope.

God bless. Jim

Hello Everyone and thanks for peaking in!

My name is Jim Aldrich and I currently hold up in the beautiful (if sparse) Joshua Tree, California. If you don’t know what joshua trees are or where the city of Joshua Tree is, It’s near the Joshua Tree National Monument, 45 minutes outside Palm Springs. Remember the U2 Album?

Beautiful Joshua Tree National Park

I am a fine artist with Expressionism as my first love. I dont produce heavily, but if I never produced another work of art I’d still identify as an artist. It is an orientation, or view of life, and if I choose not to express myself it simply makes me a failed artist. 🙂

I began the RunningFather blog in February, 2013, for a few reasons: first, I saw a need for a resource center for all things “transpersonal”. Second, I wanted to archive transpersonal content from a “middle-to-conservative” perspective, with a focus on post’s academic simplicity, practicality, soundness of theory and interdisciplinary value. Third… and this one developed after I started the RFB… I want to make accessible to spiritual teachers and guides simple materials to aid those in their “care”, as well as to help students assess their teacher or group.

Finally, I needed to. A long relationship had ended in 2012, and by February 2013 you could say I was coming off of a difficult year. So on a personal level, the RFB has been a cathartic experience, and exactly what I needed at the time.

Thanks again for visiting the RunningFather blog and please come back often.

Your face says so much… I’m not peeking… looking way too long for a peek!
Might have to paint you… Your eyes surprised me, I must have thought they were the colour of sky and sunshine, like the blurry pic! I can imagine you sad, and serious, and suddenly smiling. I’m clicking Post Comment now! And I’m going to try drawing you. There’s something about your face…

    • 🙂 cant wait to see..

      • WilderSoul says:

Hmmm. the eyes are the hardest part. And important. And surprising! I could write many words and perhaps I will. Overall, Jim…? You look sad. You ok?

        • I didn’t make it to the store on time that day. Other than that, Im great.

          • WilderSoul says:

hehe – yes I see it – the I didn’t get to the store on time look! So far I think I’ve put your eyes too close together! They are quite amazing and the highlight of your face… I want to get it right…. I don’t know if this is called inspiration, it feels more like compulsion…

            • either motive gets drawings done (: I cant remember any portraits in your gallery…this should be fun.

            • WilderSoul says:

It’s ready and photographed and I’m going to upload it to a page called Portraits on wildersoul3.wordpress.com Won’t be long now.

  8. Somewhere in time is my favorite movie and I did an illustration from this movie. I started blogging for some of the same reason, relationship ended, my dad passed away, and my relationships were a mess. I have no idea what transpersonal means but I plan to read of find you. I actually had sometime and thought whose blog do I want to read and I thought of yours I have an idea you have something to say that I need to hear/learn maybe who knows. I also love the Beethoven Moonlight the first piece I played at recital. You music is different but i love it. I love all you heart and exponents in your text. Very eye catching.

    • Thank you Michelle. I never have updated this page. I have changes so much so fast… Anyways, transpersonal is about truths, like love and the universal belief in a creator, that we all share. simply put.

      • Oh ok I have heard that and I think the way you express yourself is very intriguing. I feel like I am 1 dimensional when I read your stuff. Makes my brain explode in a good way! I have never thought of some of these things you bring up. Very nice!

  9. Easter Ellen says:

I really enjoy your blog, the music you have chosen and how you write. Thanks for sharing.
